Well my DD has a lot of anxiety and she had a traumatic birth. But DS is so very laid back and his birth was calm. But then i have severe anxiety aswell, so i'm not sure.

very interesting i do some research in to this theory it kind of makes sense doesn't it that traumatic births / stressful pregnancies etc would have an effect

Well I didn't have a stressful pregnancy as such. Maybe a few stresses but not out of the normal range of stress.
But it was more his labour was scary for me, I had nothing but fear going in so I was tense & very anxious for that. In all honesty, while his birth wasn't physically traumatic, emotionally it was for me.

He would have a predisposition to an anxiety disorder as DH has anxiety issues as well, so does FIL & apparently alot of the males on DH's side.

But I just wondered if my mental state during his labour played a part in bring it out in Evan. Surly both Isla & Glenn would have a predisposition as well, but both had more calm labours/births.

Glenn is now at the age we started seeing it in Evan. But is overall a happy kid.

I saw the school counsellor today about Evan. It just got me thinking.

My dad has anxiety disorder, his mother did, I do severly, my brother and sister do, and I've seen it coming up in my DD's (we are seeing specialists and going to STOP THE CYCLE)!!!! So from our standpoint, it's genetic. Actually I wouldn't even say genetic, but it's learned. Not saying that's the case with anyone else, but definitely is with us.

Yep, we will be going along to a thing called Small Steps & then Evan will also be a part of a programme called Mr Scary & Mr Worry (something like that)
DH & I will be filling in the assessment questionnaire tonight. But the School counsellor ahas no doubt just on what I have told her alone that this is Evans problem.
