Does the baby move more just prior to labour?

Hi,

I am 37+ 3 with my second baby. I just went to the toilet and have had a bloody show. I have been having cramps/pains for the last week, nothing regular. Baby has been pretty quiet lately...until now. She hasnt stopped moving. I'm not being hypersensative or over aware...shes definately moving a load more just in the past half hour or so.

Is this normal?

I hear people say they quieten down prior to birth, which shes done.

I am feeling a little nauseous.....but maybe thats all the doughnuts and chocolate crossants i had for lunch!!!

The MAIN thing i remember on the day i went into labour was how psycho my baby was going in there. i thought she would come tearing out through my belly button! she had been fairly quiet for about a week...just the odd stretch and wiggle here and there. but that morning when i woke up (because of her!) was really strange.

then, about 1/2 hour before my waters broke she went really really quiet...spookily so (maybe after all the dancing it just seemed weird). then presto! she also kept moving throughout my labour...i guess she didnt really appreciate the contrax squeezing her LOL!
