I had vaccum extraction used as she was stuck but suprisingly i never had an episiotomy but i did have a 2nd degree tear. Healing took about 2-3 weeks. I would prefer to tear than to be cut just because the healing seems to be quicker and better. But I honestly didn't feel that i tore, i had to ask. So i doubt i would have felt being cut either.
