Well, I have had 6 children and three were without being induced!
I am RH iso immunised and because of the risk to the baby, have had to be induced, whether it be the drip or by ARM and gel. The first two inductions were both ARM and gels and the contractions took their time to arrive but when they did come, they hit hard and fast! My last induction, was a scheduled induction in Melbourne as baby was very sick. This time they used the gel, but also used the drip against my wishes as the Obs wanted baby out asap, this wasn't the result though and to my mind the drip made the labour twice as long. When baby arrived , she had the cord wrapped tightly around her neck and even though she cried immediately, she stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated.
I regard all my inductions (even though they were medically needed) as unneeded, as I believe my body would have been able to cope naturally. If I was ever to have another baby(not likely though) and the iso immunisation was to start problems happening again, I would hold off until the last minute and try to do it all myself.
