i agree blondie you are better of going naturally, i have never heard any woman say they had a good experience after being induced.

i was 12 days over (so almost 42 weeks) and i was 1 day away from being induced, and thankfully went into labour naturally and i got ds out just fine (bar a 3rd degree tear - due to labour being so dam quick) and had a beautiful birth experience. so stay positive, i dont think what happened to your friend will happen to you, from what you've said, i think your gonna go into, and stay, in labour really soon.

cant wait to see your BA
    thinking of you hun xx

Well Hi, you just met one.

I've been induced with both of mine due to complications and had a fantastic experience, it hurt but so does a natural birth, I got to hold my child straight away and feed them, just like a natural birth.

The day before my first I spent in hospital thinking let today be to day because I was so over the bed rest, with the second I spent it trying EVERYTHING to go naturally but it wasn't to be.

Best of luck with whatever you choose

Thanks for the advice and encouragement ladies. I don't know why I am so anxious. Its a weird feeling as I am normally so calm? LOL

I think the Mater is pretty strict on induction so my hope of being induced at 41 weeks without a medical reason isn't going to stand - unless I suddenly get high BP or bub or I are at risk they will let me go. MW has told me to just be patient easier said than done.

You know what is also bothing me (and most likely the root of my anxiety), the constant phone calls. "Have you had the baby yet!?" I think it is making me panic a bit and probably making me think that I should have had it by now.

I really really hate that, what do people think? That you've had the baby and popped it in a box as a secret???? I stopped answering my phone and told people if they asked then I wouldn't tell them when the baby did come!

I had a sweep pretty much at 40 wks (DS was due on a Saturday), Almost a week later - nothing. So on the Friday I did a HUGE grocery shop (I mean, that trolley was laden with food) all by myself with the intention of cooking up a storm the next day. 730pm my ankles were HUGE. 830pm went to bed. 930pm got up to the toilet and lost my "plug". 10pm back in bed. 1am woke up just as my waters broke. Contractions started about 1/2 hour later. DS born at 7:57am that Saturday at 41 wks.

LOL Exactly! I should do that

humm sconeonamission something like that happened to my SIL. She mowed the grass and then went into Labour. Maybe I should do a grocery shop - perhaps do a big walk of the shopping centre while I am at it.

Hey Blondie, I feel your pain!! My DD was a few days early and then her brother was born at 41wks!! So I got very frustrated waiting for him...

I stopped answering my phone, stayed off fb, just basically hung out here. I was trying everything, including scubbing my floor on hands and knees!

In the end, I had a run in with a MW when I asked for a sweep and she refused, I had a big emotional meltdown at the birth centre, came home and had another big cry, rested, DH came home and I had another big cry, went to bed and then went into labour 3am!

I'd posted on here that I was so upset and a lot of people said that sometimes a big release of emotional energy like that can kick things off... One of my BB friends texted me the next morning, about half an hour after I'd given birth and said "How are you feeling today?" and I texted back "Like I just had a baby! BA incoming..." and then sent out the big "OP and DH are proud to finally announce..."

It'll happen. I know how you feel so I am allowed to say that hehehe

Before I stopped answering my phone all together I actually said to some of my friends "yes I have had the baby, I just chose NOT to tell you" with a voice dripping sarcasm!
