Thank you everyone for your really positive support.
I was really having a bit of anxiety this afternoon thinking - oh I should have gone through with it...I worry that the placenta will be OK.
I will go for monitoring Fri & Sun and we have booked an induction for next Monday when I will be about 11-12 days overdue - I feel by then I have given it plenty of time and the worry about going too long will be too much for me.

I cant have an induction any earlier so that is fine and hopefully nature will take its course.

I have had heaps of tightenings in my tummy..even my friend noted them through my tight t shirt today and have had back pain this afternoon !! I think the nipple stim is working
I just had some brown stained mucous - which I am trying not to get too excited about as it could be just because of the S & S today.

SJH - heard about acupuncture - I will think about that - never done it before - is a massage any good??
Thanks for the information link bronners

Laranna - I happened to buy a pineapple 2 days ago and cut it up this afternoon and ate quite a few slices HTH!!
Starry - there as usual for me - I dont think it was particularly heroic it was just I didnt feel ready for labour...

    Thanks again

Intuition is a very powerful thing, I congratulate you for summoning up the courage to listen to it!
I'm sure you've done the right thing and those tightenings etc sound quite promising!
Sending you heaps and heaps of labour vibes, let us know how you go, I'll be thinking of you!!

AnnaBelle I second the acupuncture thing... my body was showing absolutely no signs of labour at 8 days over and after 2 sessions of acupuncture I did have early labour so definitely book in with a good acupuncturist if you can.

I may try it tomorrow if still no labour

I am in Brisbane - so if anyone knows of an acupuncturist - [please be sure to let me know I would appreciate it - we live inner city but will go any side of town.

If you didn't feel ready then you probably did the right thing. I had the gel applied at 41 weeks and nothing happened Bub obviously wasn't cooked enough. I ended up going to almost 43 weeks and Bub was induced and he came out with no trouble and was only 7lbs (I expected at least a 9 pounder he was so late!). The risk of something going wrong just because you're past 41 weeks is so so tiny. With monitoring (like you had at the hospital) it's basically zero.

One thing my OB said to me was to imagine what it would be like after I'd had the baby. He said that if it ended in a caesar, for example, I could at least say to myself (and the women at mothers' group) that I had waited as long as I could. If I'd gone at 41 weeks and it had ended in a caesar I'd always be second guessing myself. He was very right. One of my girlfriends had a caesar and she keeps going over and over what she did or didn't do 'right'.

Good on you hun. The brown staining is a wonderful sign, that is your show. I dont think you really need to be induced at all, I think you will go before the end of the week.

Some of the girls mentioned a pressure point above the inside of your ankle, near the back, about 3 finger widths up, in another thread. Try that, nice and firm.

    Just an update...

I had my monitoring this morning - bub is happy good heart rate - looked like consistent "contractions" waves on the monitoring machine every four minutes or so..
I thought they were bubs just moving around
Head is still 3/5th no drop
However I had exactly the same thing on Wed monitoring before we decided to abandon the induction...
HOwever!!! Today off an on feeling like period is on way with back pain... and the main thing is weird looking yellow discharge - not like usual CM..(no blood though)
Anyway that is the story & I feel just sort of serenely calm which I find weird.

Thanks again and will keep you posted if interested

When bub wants to come out, bubs will
    You did the right thing.
I was induced the first time and it sucked!! Second time I went natural and it was fab!! 3rd time I was induced a week early and it again sucked!! I really hope you go natural!
Chase quietened down a week before I went naturally so I hope that's what bubs is doing for you

Thanks for the advice on induction - I have heard the drip is pretty full on so i hope to go with gel and waters breaking and hope it goes from there....
This is my last night to go into labour ...

Otherwise I am going in tomorrow morning at 6am for induction - I feel more ready mind and bodywise to go through with it and hope everything goes well - I hope I have progressed more than Wednesday when we called it off - the mucous plug coming out should hopefully mean that I am dialated a bit more ???

Thanks and will keep you posted

I went on the drip and it wasn't that bad. Sure, my contractions were full on but you get through it and I had gas so just went with the flow. Everybody is different but no horror stories here at all. I was already 2cm dilated when they broke my waters. If you go with the gel and waters breaking then that's great. I only had a 5 hour labour, you'll be fine...can't wait to hear from you again, when you are holding your gorgeous little bundle!! Good luck, thinking of you xxoo
