My first child (my son) was a very long birth. From my first contraction to the time he arrived was 58 hours, and I was pushing for 2.5 hours. I also could not stop throwing up. It was exhausting! They made me stop pushing after his head came out so they could clear his mouth and make sure the cord was not around his neck, and then they let me finish pushing. He came out posterior too. I had to have an epidural after my water broke as I was only 5 cm and could not stop pushing. Good thing for the epidural as I needed a lot of stitches.

My second child (my daughter) was completely different. From the time of my first contraction to the time she arrived was 5 1/2 hours. She came flying out on my third push and the Dr literally caught her. She came out posterior as well and I again needed a lot of stitches but I healed so much quicker (maybe because I didn't have an epidural this time).
