God Alan, when are you moving to Scotland!?

Hun when i had a HB in the UK they put, amongst other things, syntometrine in my fridge in case i needed it for the 3rd stage. Is there any way you could have that prescribed and stuck in your fridge, so that IF (big if, you're really aware of the need to go in this time, so i'm sure you'll be on red alert for potential labour!) you give birth at home the paramedics can immediately give you the synto before they transport you? You could even have DH learn how to load and inject JIC?

Also, can you reach your own cervix when PG (i could, had to get into a weird position, but it was possible!)? Maybe you could get into the habit of checking how your cervix feels every day - even if you don't feel it much i'm sure you'll be able to tell from dilation when things are getting serious.
