When did they last do an internal to check dilation?
Man they need to get you sorted out and quick because if you are going in to labour your boys aren't in favourable positions to come out naturally and the last thing you would then need is to have to be air ambulanced to Melbourne.
If they are so unsure I don't understand why they don't get you to Melbourne ASAP and then hopefully you will be able to be seen by an Ob to get this all under control.
Got to love the base is all I can say Kelly!
Last check for dilation was when I came in Tuesday morning. I just told the nurse about the jelly like goop I got this morning in the toilet and all she asked was if there was any blood.
Apparently my heart scan is soon so maybe just maybe they can give me an answer on something.
I just looked in the mirror too and my face is so flushed and red you'd think I'd been sunburnt

Tell them you want to get checked again, and you want them to tell you what's going on as they know it.
Demand it (nicely) and ask if they really want unplanned vaginal frank breech delivery of 32wk twins
Oh darl, just found this thread.
The way they have been treating you is just atrocious!
Sounds like you're losing your plug too, and I had the stingy/burning sensations while in labour with Elise when I was dilating just prior to transition.
Threaten them if you have to to get an internal done to check for dilation, and if you need to demand to go to melbourne or dandenong (a friend of mine worked in dandenong's NICU 2 years ago and said they were really good there).
Looking like you've been sunburnt doesn't sound good either, hope the heart scan can tell you what's wrong so it can be fixed up!
Hope everything settles down for you darl xxxx
Just found this thread, wishing you and your twins all the best and hope you can get sorted and some answers soon.
mrs s - pain can lead to increase heart rate and bp which can lead you to also feel hot and sweaty, and can also lead to nausea/vomiting if not treated. and remember there is no such thing as dumb questions only stupid people lol.
ballarat hosp does have some useless nurses, remember that from when my mum was in there. they just dont have much of a clue. if you are quiet and dont kick a stink they just ignore the fact that you are there?
You need to talk to a consultant ASAP. Ask to see one now. You need to start making a real nuisance of yourself. It sounds like they're bloody useless.
Have they given you a steroid shot for bubs' lungs?
Do you have a pen and paper? I think you need to write down some questions that will light a fire under them. Ask that they make a photocopy for your records, so if something goes pear shaped, it's in there.
I hope the babies stay in for another few weeks.
Yeah Tash had my last steroid injection last night.
Well my scan took 2 hours and I heard the scariest words of my life
"we are just going to check for clots in your lungs and blockages to your heart" :'(
It was horrible I nearly stopped breathing a few times it felt like my head was going to explode and I kept going in and out of consciousness it was extremely scary and I'm still quite shaken from the ordeal.
Contractions are getting less bearable even with pain killers.
My lucky streak of having a room to myself is also over I came back and there's another lady in here
It's at the stage I want these babies out NOW just so this bull **** is over and I know that's bad because they should cook longer but this can't be healthy for them

Sending you HUGE hugs darl, wish there was something I could do xxxx
I have a physician coming to see me they are still waiting for results from yesterday's blood test and are starting me on iron tablets as a test came back on Tuesday with low iron levels

I'd ask the physician at what stage would they transfer you to Melbourne.
Written that down so I remember! The burning is getting worse too but there's nothing they can check to see if it was my plug because I lost it in the toilet or is there a way they can see?

Oh gees, you really need to be in a better bigger hospital. I have everything crossed for you x
Just found the thread Nikkie, sending huge hugs.
Write all those questions down and whatever is in your head, get it out and get those answers.
Things can go wrong quickly with twins and pre term labour, so make sure you are happy with your care.
Remember bubs are at a good gestation now, my little man was born at 31 weeks and is doing well, a big fat Chubber now.
Thinking about you,
Take care
Thank you BF was he in nicu long

Thinking of you xoxo
Love MN ;-)
They've gone to talk to higher up people coz my contractions match first stage active labour

Mrs s still thinking of you and the boys. Really hope you manage to get some answers from the physician soon xxx
hey Mrs S- just wanted to send my stay put vibes for your bubbas
my twins were born at 30 weeks- not ideal but they made it
they spent 33 days in NICU/ICU so came home at almost 36 weeks - DS in NICU for 7 days and DD didnt go to NICU- straight to SCN!! Girls are a bit tougher lol
please it would really be worth getting the ball moving to get into the city - either RWH, Mercy or Monash- they all have level 3 nurseries on premise- also the RCH has a level 3 nursery. They usually recommend a level 3 nursery under 34 weeks so even if you stay in melb till you pass that point
a really good doc to get on board is the head of multiple birth and patron of Australian Mulitple birth ass. A leader in multiple births in melb!!
perhaps even ring and explain what is going on and see what he recommends!!!
twins at 31 weeks have between 80-90% of being fine! Not an easy journey but the longer they bake obviously the better
for every one day inutero is 2 days less in SCN/ICU
Hang in there hun and happy to speak/chat whenever you want to another twin mumma who has been there and done that!!
hugs hun
I'm astounded by their lack of concern and sense of urgency - and the Base is not a small hospital! They should be more competent that this! Grrr!
I will try look up his number thank you very much! I have so much pressure in my vagina it feels like it's going to burst which I guess would make sense with a frank breech

hun i just PM you his details!!
definately worth giving him a call and explaining your situation to him!!
Please call him, it can't hurt and could help
Thanks I will be calling him for sure

8354 2000 is the main number
Rang the Womens they said I can't talk to him after hours and I'll have to call his rooms number in the morning

Oooh, thats sucky. Did you explain it to them?
Grrrrr
Tried the snotty nosed ***** didn't give a crap

Did you ask for maternity, or were you just talking to the reception person?
Ah I'm guessing there's my problem just reception! I'll let my phone charge for 5 then get transferred to maternity and try again

If you have to I'd say I was a patient..
Well technically I'm admitted in a hospital so am a patient just not specifying where.
Contractions are bow well into 3 in 10 and it's getting hard to just breathe through them theres slight moans starting.

Far out the base are idiots. My brother and I were born there, apparently they haven't changed! Huge hugs babe, I am sorry you're going through all of this. Everyone else has offered amazing advice, just wanted to give you some extra support
Please do get one to someone else! 32 weeks is good, but everyday in there is even better. Massive
I can't sit coz I can feel "something" does that mean this is for real or could it still be associated with pre labour? All nurses are busy so I might get a quicker more educated answer here first

It sounds like the real deal, especially when you are having trouble talking through them.
