Rory, I think once you get your head around the whole thing, do your research and are so informed on everything, you get taken away with it all.

It's a very empowering thing to do. Funnily though, women were birthing at home only 70 years or so ago as a natural thing. Women in other countries do it everyday, and it's the norm.

    Each to their own though

Rachel, get the photos. If you don't like them you can get rid of them, but you can't go back to take more !!! They don't have to be distasteful, not that I think any birth pics are. But I'm sure you know what I mean.

One more attempt, for all those for whom the AAPT link isn't working - the video on Dailymotion (who are hopefully less strict, or at least less attentive, than Youtube).

Trish - just beautiful Trish, lots of tears here. I never would have thought I would agree that photos at the birth were a good idea - until now.

Michael - even more tears! Olivia is gorgeous and there is a beautiful photo of your wife in there when she is leaning back after the birth with Olivia in her arms - she is glowing.

Caro, yup we have a video of Tehya's whole birth and some of the labour. Must admit there's more labour than birth though. Welll after 10 hours of it, I'd guess you'd expect that

I had a professional photographer come and do pics at her Baptism. It's good having those sort of friends

Michael, that link worked for me.

I hear you sister!! If "birth" is just the "coming out part" - well that's about 5 seconds in a vaginal birth, isn't it? In which case, I'll give "birth" any day LOL!!!

LOL Heh, feeling bad about the confusion I caused by stealing Trish's limelight. So I've started my own thread in this form and put the Dailymotion link for Olivia's photo-video there.

Cindy, it depends on who's slideshw you've watched. If it was mine then the song is Baby Girl by Will Hoge.

If it was Schmickers(aka Michael's)it is When you say you love me by Westlife.

Truely you can do it too, it's really quite easy to do with that program online.

Thrish, that the most beautiful video, i had tears running down my face, I can not wait to do it all over again, you have inspired (spel) me to try for a water birth.

kmh, go for the waterbirth, you won't regret it. If you try it out and decide it's not for you then atleast you know.

Be warned though, a VBAC waterbirth is hard to find someone to support you in. That's why I did mine at home
