Question Was it my show? Help

When i went to the toilet this morning i had blood(tmi) but there was not really any mucous, I haven't had anymore today, and I have been getting contractions 5 minutes apart since then.

I would say its your show & contractions being 5 mins apart I'd say you'd better contact your hospital to let them know you'll be in today.... YAY!! Good luck!

    great news Jo

your body and your baby know when the time is right

just to be on the cautious side
you may feel pressured to be augmented (drip, rupture of your waters), there is NO evidence to support this will have ANY positive outcome for you and your baby. It will increase the amount of medical intervention though and reduce your positive feelings of your birth experience

you do NOT need to remain stuck to a fetal monitor
you can allow them to do a inital 20 min monitor, and if all is well then there is no reason at all why you cannot have intermittent monitoring

you do NOT need to have an epidural for you BP...this in fact increases the risk of intervention again to you and your baby

you can get in the bath and shower
    you can move around
you can still implement your birth plan (if you have one)

to keep your BP under control
    remain calm and relaxed
forward positions with the forehead resting calms the central nervous system and reduces BP, increasing O2 to your uterus and your baby

but enjoy lovely mummy to be...your gonna have a baby

Sounds great though, early labour stuff... can you defer your induction for a couple of days at least? Should be going great guns by then! We did a poll on BB about the show, and the vast majority went into labour 2 days after their show. I'd get walking, stairs etc to help get it going while its daylight

as Kelly said...its all great prelabor stuff

do you feel confident enough to say no to the induction? and perhaps just have your BP monitored, and check your baby's heart rate

you will certainly have a more positive expereince and birth outcome if you are left to labor naturally
