Jeepers, some of you girls have massive feet!

My shoe size is 6, my bubs was 6 pound 8. My mum takes a size 5 shoe and I was 5 pound 10, my sister was 5 pound 8. My sister takes a size 7 shoe and her 2 babies were between 7-8 pounds, so in our family your OB's theory is totally correct.

I'm size 7-8 depending on shoe & DD was 8lb 13oz. I dont mind having another DD's size, I loved her chubby chops hehehe. I think childbirth hurts with any size baby IYKWIM

I have size 10 shoes and DD1 was 9pd4oz. So correct in my case!
I just hope that the trend is reversed this time as I have DD2 due this month and I want a slightly smaller baby this time!

I'm an Aussie 8.5 (according to the conversion chart I used) Canadian size 10. My babies have been 6lb14oz, 7lb10oz, and 7lb8oz. Not true for me.
What I have heard, though, is that your babies will be close in size to your own birth weight. I believe my birthweight was 7lb6oz, so that's true for me!

    My shoe size is 9 - 10. Usually 10.

    DD1 - 7lb 5oz
    DD2 - 8lb 9oz
    DS - 8lb 7.5oz

My birth weight was 7lb 1oz & DH was 6lb 1oz. I don't really think you can count on either of those theory's.

OK, my original post may not have been clear enough. He wasn't saying that your baby will usually be between your shoe size and one pound heavier, he was saying usually less than, the same or UP TO one pound heavier than your shoe size is the norm.

I've been interrupted a few times when doing a count so my maths might be slightly out, but using that as a guide, this is what your posts have shown:

Of the 58 babies reported in these posts, 48 were less than, the same or up to 1 pound heavier than your shoe size.
Of those 58 babies, 10 were more than 1 pound heavier than mum's shoe size.

    So I think it's a fairly good guide. But that's all - a guide.

BTW - I'm a size 5.5 and DD was 8lb 10oz so on that basis my ob said I'd done extremely well because she was big for me, but Divvy OMG, he would have given you a medal for sure girl! Mind you, he had told me all along that he thought DD would be between 8-9lb just from feeling my tummy. Didn't tell me about the shoe size thing until after I gave birth though - I think he didn't want to scare me!
