I've always said the same thing about the size of the baby...it doesn't matter how big they are...it's really only the head circumference that counts hey.

One of my friends had a 9.5pounder, but his head circumference was (I think about) 36cm, so he was a rather big all round boy - to the point the doctor was fighting to pull his head through - apparently he was a rather burley doctor and even his arms were trembing...ouch!. But then I had a rather small baby...6 pounder (or 2.72kg) with a 3.5cm head circumference and I still had 2nd degree tearing. So either size it hurts, but we both are prepared to do it all over again (she had bub #2 recently - also a big boy and we are planning a 2nd very soon) - cause we know that the pain is all worth it when you get hold of that beautiful baby.

I have to say, having birthed 3 babies on either end of the scale, the last and biggest was the hardest, and the worst pain. The doctor having to assist pulling him out cos his shoulders were royally stuck didn't help the cause

But yeah, your right in saying labour is going to bloody hurt. Even a 3lbs baby is still gonna hurt. Contractions aren't fun.

I am always proud to tell people I birthed Ash naturally and vaginally sicne he was so big. People automatically asume that he was a ceser.

If people **** you with their dumb comments just ignore them hun.
