11 lb home water birth (or in other words, just a birth :))

How wonderful, what a fine effort, good on you mum! The biggest baby I've been doula for was a squeak under 11 pounds, also a home water birth like you. Her mama had previously birthed a 12 pounder (with no tears!) so her lil' 11 pounder was just a wee titch.
Congratulations!!!!!!!

On a different note ... we just can't let the govt. get away with not funding or criminalising this option for women. I think it is completely unacceptable that births like the one you experienced, with the kind of care you received from your midwife, should be a fringe, underground sort of thing - with no resourcing, funding or support from official channels. So not OK. That is why I'll be in Canberra on Sept 7.
