    Hi,

I have essential hypertension (high BP not caused by pregnancy), mine is due to kidney disease for which i have had half my right kidney removed and it helped lower my BP somewhat but not completely.

I am on Metoprolol for the rest of my life. I have had 6 kids, all were conceived on this med and spent the entire pregnancy on this med with no complications other than they were all small. BP meds generally cause small babies so regular growth scans are in order, as im sure you already know.

For most of my pregnancies my BP has lowered and sometimes they have been able to lower my meds. But at about 34 wks my BP starts to rise and most of the time i end up being induced to due to high BP at 37/38 wks.

I hope your BP stabilises and you can have a trouble free pregnancy

Yep, I had scans every 4 weeks with my DS.

My issue is that my BP isn't being controlled, they can never seem to get it right!
