Just thought I'd weigh in (oh someone stop me!) ...
My guy is 7 months and I haven't weighed him for a long time... I figure as long as he's eating/drinking and having plenty of wet nappies and is happy enough, he's doing fine. For a while he was pretty skinny, and lots of people commented, but they weren't taking into account how tall he is. He's got a couple of rolls on his legs and on his arms, so unless they disappear, I won't be worrying. I have NO idea how much he weighs!
I wouldn't worry too much if he's happy and well x
MamaSpice, the quantity of solids at 7 months sounds fine. Most babies don't need much at that age. However did you know that the recommendation is now for meat to be introduced as one of the earliest foods? Meat (or meat substitute for vegetarians) is the best source of iron and zinc for babies. These nutrients are usually the first to be needed from external foods (ie not breastmilk) and are really important for brain development. Iron fortified cereals etc do not have zinc, and the iron in that form is poorly absorbed.
