What does AF do to breast milk? I assume something because DS doesn't seem to like to feed as much leading up to AF - in fact, his cues are often the first signs I get that AF is on her way. He feeds for shorter times and pulls off often during feeds and his nappies are generally lighter.
From what I understand, the hormones change the way the milk tastes, so its not what bubs is used to. The same thing happened to me when I was ovulating, and then again in the lead up to AF. I did notice though after about 3 cycles, DD got used to the change and stopped fussing during these times.
DD always fussed in the few days before and would have much quicker shorter feeds. But when AF was actually here she seemed fine, so I just figured it was in the lead up. It was also the only way I'd know it was about to happen too!
