Oh yeah, I was also going to say that babies don't mind a hard mattress (that is normal, soft ones might not be safe) but they often dislike sleeping alone. The night after DS1 was born he cried whenever he was put in the bassinette thing and the midwife called it "white sheet fever". She put him in bed with me and told me that a warm mum cures it - and it did!! Co-sleeping usually is a great way for both bub and parents to get more sleep. Just follow the safe sleeping guidelines and you'll be fine - breastfeeding mums naturally sleep in a safe position with their baby, it's an instinct thing.
