WRT the burping, is it bothering him not bringing the wind up? I had the same problems with DS, I could never get his wind up. I rang my midwife about it when he was a week old and she told me that nowadays they arent so vigilant on fully breastfed babies getting their wind up, and said if he doesnt bring it up then not to worry as he will let me know if it bothered him. So I would try for a burp for a few minutes, and if he didnt do one then I let him be (even if he was going to bed afterwards). If he woke or got unsettled 15-20mins later or something, then I would try again and sure enough a big burp would come out.
If it is bothering him though then I am not much help, I never did find a decent position that worked well every time lol.
We're at 17 months now, and have started getting the "when are you thinking of weaning" questions. Not in a mean way or anything, just curiosity from family. DP is getting a bit funny with it now that DS is so "big", he has told me that once he is 18 months he doesnt want him bf-ing anymoreLol. I wouldnt mind trying to night-wean either now or at 18 months, but definitely not fully weaning. I like knowing that he is still getting lots of goodies in him when he has phases of not eating much food at all (like the last couple of weeks). It gets tiring with him feeding so often during the day again, but I love being able to take that time out to just chill with my little guy. Dont know how DP is going to react when the 18month mark rolls on by and we dont stop hahahaha
