DD1 never needed burping, she'd bring any wind up as I changed sides.

DD2 is such a guzzler she can still give herself a bellyache but rather than actively burping I tend to keep her upright for a bit after a feed.

I know there aren't many EE'ers here... but any tips for burns around the nipple? Where it gets sucked into the flange is red raw like a burn and it huuuurts. I have lanisoh and bm on it at the moment, not sure what else I can do. I can't turn the pump down to more gentle because it is as gentle as possible already... any more gentle and it wouldn't get any milk out.

you might need a different sized flange for the pump

Bigger or smaller? I don't actually know what your nipple should look like while drawn into a flange.

What kind of pump do you have M?

I reckon a bigger flange would help for sure; I had to get a size up for my mini electric. Made such a difference, not only to comfort level but also the amount of milk I was able to pump.

I've got a mini electric too. Did you get a large (27 mm)? I might try that.

Olive oil (just a weeny bit) to make the flanges a bit slipperier.

I got a bigger flange too. By this time my nipples were so damaged they took ages to recover

Olive oil is working great! Soooo much better. I think I dropped a pump too quickly though (currently pumping 4 hourly) I just got 100 mils . At the peak I was getting 140 mils every 3 hours. Might need to have a power pump weekend to get it up again.

Well here I am, my DD arrived 9 days ago and it's lovely to be BF again, experiencing a mad cluster feeding frenzy which has been going for the better part of 5 hrs - eeeek! Rather tired now!

If you have the friction issue under control then maybe try turning up the pump a bit and see if that helps.

Watching the olympics while feeding? I hope she gets milk drunk soon and passes out for the night .
