You will be amazed at what your boobs can do - this is what got me, in the end; boobs are amazing and can keep your baby alive and thriving all by themselves! I recommend a breastfeeding class (but that might be hard for you to come by), and a subscription to La Leche League, or ABA if there is no LLL in Turkey. It sounds like you need people around you who can support you to start, get through the wrinkly bits of starting and to keep going. You've got enough non-breastfeeding influence around you (we all do!) that getting the right information, having the most useful information and having the right people in place takes a bit more preparation. I'd also recommend getting along to a couple of meetings of your local breastfeeding mums group (if you have LLL) before bub is born. Otherwise, there is BB and the ABA forum (which is ace because their are online counsellors you can organise email contact with.
Dads have plenty they can do - I didn't bath either of my babies for weeks It helps them if they realise that breastfeeding is YOUR job because they don't have boobs. They must also realise, for breastfeeding to work, that babies are wired to rely on mum for survival for many weeks. Dads DO get their time, they just need to support mum to grow the baby before that time comes.
When we're pregnant there's heaps we can't do, so once bub is here it becomes dad's turn to do what he can without taking over your very, irreplaceable job.
