    Question Breastmilk Storage Bags ??

I have seen breastmilk storage bags around ages ago. But of course now that I want/need some I can't find them anywhere.

Does anyone know where I can get these bags from. I need to build up my supply of EBM for some births I have coming up.

    Thanks a heap

They aren't easy to get Trish that's for sure.

I have some Avent ones which need clips, but they don't make the bags anymore & it's near impossible to get them now. If you go to the Avent website though, send them an email to see if you can get some old stock. I'm not sure if they have many bags left because I was just getting the bottles that hold the bags at the time.

The ones I found on the net are called Gerber Seal N Go, they have a zip lock which are sooo much better. I hunted high & low for any type of bags then eventually found the Gerber ones on ebay & Amazon though the postage for Amazon was ridiculous.

ETA: Kim I wish I knew that before, would have saved heaps of hassle! When I run out I'll be getting them from you for sure.

Kim, I have had a look at your site. I have also found the bags. The only thing it doesn't say is how many you get for your $$

Thanks for that too Sarah. I found that Au ebay has precious little but American Ebay has stacks. But then you have to pay ridiculous postage rates.

I think Avent has replaced teh bags with those cups. Which are ok, but do take up some space and Abbey won't drink from the avent bottles so I'd still have to be swapping it all around again.

Have they really become rare in only 2 years since I last used them??? - I am genuinely surprised. I would just duck to my local chemist or Priceline and could buy some there.

Thanks for this thread putting me on alert to not take it for granted and have a look next time I am at the shops ....

I used to just express into bottles.. That way it was all ready to go when needed.. no need to transfer to a bottle.. I just put the teat in and warmed it up

I pumped and froze EBM for Lachlan for 6 months and my personal opinion is Medela is the best brand for them!

I've been using the trays from ToysRus - brand is sensible lines - they've been made to be used for freezing BM - so far no dramas - once frozen I've been putting them (the 30mL sticks) into labelled snap lock bags to store for a longer time. When defrosting I just put 2 sticks at a time in a bottle and let it defrost overnight in the fridge (don't have a bottle warmer). Only needed to defrost milk a couple of times at the moment, starting to get a bit of a supply in the freezer for childcare in a couple of months time.

Hey since I went on to order those BPA free breast milk bags the site is having a special 2 for 1 offer - really cheap breast milk bags. I am placing another order as it is only $20 bucks for 50 bags.

I thought I would let you all know -
Hope that helps! If anyone finds chemists that stock them I would love to know? Saves on postage...

    Ta!
