For those with older bubs, when did they start going all night without having a BF? Did moving them into their own bed help?

When I was breastfeeding DS, he actually didn't go all night without a breastfeed until he started weaning (at around 20+ months). He generally woke 1-3 times a night - just for a very quick comfort feed. It was always very quick so I didn't mind doing it.

I night weaned at 14 months, but DS couldn't go all night without eating somthing till over 18 months. And he still drank water in the night till well after 2 (and maybe still does but doesn't wake us up to help)

I think every baby is different - dd who is 4 months has slept from 8:30pm until 7am with no waking for the last week. (she sleeps in a cradle beside our bed) But then ds2 who was bottlefed was still wanting milk in the night until 2 months ago. ds1 never had a night feed from 8 weeks on. So with all 3 of them it's been different.

we night weaned around 20 months - part of that was moving DS back into his cot on his own (he and I had been sharing a mattress on the floor).

Just wanted to say we have got officially to 4 months breastfeeding today. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal for some people but it's a huge deal for us. Especially with all the trouble we have had and are still having. I'm feeling very positive about our journey today and for now we are going to keep going.

i bf my son for 18 months when he self weaned. he stopped night feeding at 12 months. that was a long couple of weeks. but he was ok with it in the end. he still gets in bed with me almost every night.

I'm breastfeeding my first baby, she is also 4 months old.
AF returned 16wks exactly after giving birth, while full time Bfeeding, does this mean I can fall pg again, would I have to stop feeding if I did?
DD is an IVF bubba, but I know so many women have fallen naturally after their first.
Have checked out the ABF website but didn't help me very much.

Yep, if you have AF you could be ovulating and could get pregnant. No, you wouldn't have to stop feeding if you got pregnant. Some people feed right through pregnancy and then feed both babies when the little one arrives.

I was never sure of breastfeeding before Alexis was born, if anyone ever asks what the hardest part of child birth would be, I can easily tell them the first month of breastfeeding!!!! I was so ready to give up many times at 2am for the upteenth night of crying and no sleep. 6 months was always my limit. Now I love it and don't wan't to stop just yet!!!
Alexis has found a new trick, and it kills me, she grabbs at my breast when I'm feeding, and it really pinches, sometimes really HURTS. If I try to hold and gently stroke her hand to keep her from doing it, she getts frustrated.
The more I tense up, the longer it takes for my 'let down' to come, and she getts more frusrated. What to do??

You could try some sort of distraction maybe? some people buy breastfeeding necklaces that are supposed to capture their attention when feeding.

Dd does that to me too murraycod. It really hurts. Mostly she just likes to stroke the breast but every know and then she thinks pinching is the way to go lol. I find that sometimes if I have a shirt or a cloth or a soft blankie she'll pull and tug and pinch on that instead. Doesn't always work but it does mostly.
Just went and looked at a sleeping dd before hopping into bed myself and just looking at her made my boobs let down. Man I seem to have a crazy over eager let down lol.
