How much bigger will my boobs get when I start BF???

    Hi all!

This may be a random question but I'm hoping someone here can answer it for me.

Throughout this pregnancy my BB's have gone out of control, I've gone from a 10C to a 14DD. Over the past few weeks I've felt like my BB's have been growing again and my current bra is starting to get a little tight (although admittedly I mainly notice this in the afternoon/evening).

So my question is, are they likely to continue growing when I start BFing or stay the same? I'm trying to work out when/if I need to go bra shopping again.

Oh, I'm 37 weeks at the moment....

Mine went from a 12B to an 14E while pregnant, and then once my milk came in they stayed pretty much the same, at the E... now they're shrinking as DS uses them less and less. I can now fit into a 12D. They shouldn't get much bigger!

Oh wow Helle, that's what I wanted to hear! I hope I take after you in that respect. The whole idea of them getting smaller again sounds wonderful too!

You might get a couple of weeks of really big boobies, as your milk comes in, but that usually settles quickly to your pregnant boobie size.
As you get further in to your feeding.. 4-6 months.. they'll settle to a size that will prob last till weaning...
So you shouldnt get *too* much more growth, just the in-coming of your first milk!!

Spare a thought for those of us that started at 14DD before falling pregnant!!!

Just make sure you get fitted! So much better for your back and your breasts!
There is nothing worse that wearing a 14DD if you should be wearing a 10F
    I completly agree dragoncookie.
Chody when you do go to get fitted for your maternity bras (if you haven't already) make sure it's from a proper bra fitter who measures you. I went into what I thought was a reputable bra merchant and the girl in there treated me like I was just fat. Even though your breasts are getting bigger if you put on a bra in the store and it doeasn't feel supportive it's going to feel worse when your feeling fuller.

    Good Luck

I was a 12c pre preg, then up to a dd during preg. The first few days after my milk came in my bbs were HUGE and hard, but I didn't really wear a bra for weeks because I was at home (didn't leave the house for three weeks). Then I went and got fitted at the aba shop into an e cup and stayed in that until dd was feeding less at about 12 months or so.
I wouldn't rush out and get new bras in the first week, be ause your milk supply isn't really established until 3 weeks.

I am currently in a dd at 30 weeks pg and think it'll be pretty similar.

Oh yeah, if you are a DD already, don't bother with Bras n Things, Kmart ,etc...you will need a specialist bra fitter.

Not sure where you are, but there is a good one at the the Junction in Camberwell - they lots of old lady knickers and swimmers, but they are fabulous at fitting, and since they aren't perky little 18 year olds with B cups, they don't look at you like a freak
Also a FABULOUS store that specialises in D+ bras, Brava, in High St, Malvern or Prahran.

If you aren't in Melbourne, I am useless pmsl

Secret Kiss in Point Cook (also one in Geelong) are good too.
And Div highly recommends Lisa's Lacies which are Seaford way I think...
Again both of those are Melbourne area!

Everyone is different hon so there is no real answer to your question. Yes, your boobs will probably get bigger (ESPECIALLY when your milk comes in!) but how big and for how long is anyones guess.

I was a 12c - I had great, perky boobs pre-pregnancy (I've only appreciated that since DD stopped BF ) and only grew to a 14DD while pregnant and while feeding. I quickly went down do a 12D while BF and was back to my 12C not long before DD's first birthday. Everyone is different. I have to say though the 'milk has arrived' boobs are amazing! I'll be taking a photo with our next baby
