I caught up with a close friend of mine on the weekend who's 30 weeks pregnant (actually she was one of the ones who got me thinking about this sort of stuff). Anyways, we were talking about all things pregnancy and birth related, as you do, and I brought up the topic of this thread. I was basically saying how I found it amazing that as a society we tell women that they can do anything they want, run a marathon, become the prime minister, etc etc, but when we say we want to breastfeed, society says 'hmmm not sure if you can'. She too agreed how obsurd it is when you look at it like that and said, that's it from now on 'I'm breastfeeding, it might be hard work, but I can do it'.
Just thought I'd share, it was actually really nice to be able to inspire a close friend and give her the confidence to believe in her body.
