Ok so were trying bls here, DD does very well and munches her way thru bread, fruits, veggies and such. It's going great, apart from the constant judgement from the inlaws, which gets dh concerned about it too!! I'm sick of them thinking they can openly judge my ways of parenting just because it's different to how they did it, because quite frankly, DD is growing fantastically and hitting milestones either on time or early, so I can't be doing too bad a job. Yes I know sometimes she chokes a bit, and she doesn't understand me when I say bring it forward, but she does bring it do the front of her mouth. And Yes I know it's scary, but it'd be just as scary introducing solids no matter what age you do it. They're bound to gag every now and then. Oh and while were at it, you don't need to tell me everytime we see you that the teething necklace is just a plastic waste of money and that she shouldn't be wearing necklaces coz it's too dangerous... Do you actually think I didn't look into that?! And that I would knowingly put my daughter in danger?!! She cries with it off when her teeth are moving, and doesn't when it's on. So it stays on. And no I don't just want to use freaking panadol!!!!! *sigh*
Sorry, had to get that out![]()

I did explain that the best thing for speech & jaw development was breast feeding!
Oh, and just FYI, they're less likely to choke if they feed themselves.
You're doing a great job!

sounds like you are doing a fab job of following your LO's cues as to what works for DD
for ya. Unsupportive family sucks.
Smile, grit your teeth and keep doing exactly what you're doing. An "oh, you think so" is more than enough. You'll be listening to plenty of complaints soon enough about fussy eaters to get plenty of proud Mummy moments in around your DD's eating! You just have to be patient.
