Hey, for what it's worth, if you feel he's probably ready and sitting up ok, I'd just put him in the vicinity of suitable foods and let him go for it if he wants to. If he's ready, he'll eat. If he's not, he won't.

That's my plan for next time anyway - just let baby figure it out themselves (I'm lazy too )
