On other threads ultrasound for duct blockages and mastitis has been recommended.
Any success stories?
Anyone know where I can get it done in Adelaide?
Thanks!

I did it. It did work. I was helped by the local hospital breastfeeding clinic who had a pump on hand and the physio (who was really into it an had a lot to say about it) did it for me. It worked, and provided me with the relief i had been needing after having a lump for almost a month that ABs and other treatments had not fixed. My son was about 4 months though.
You can also get breast massage for mastitis. I dont know of anyone specifically in Adelaide, but Andrew Barnes in QLD was heavily involved with the college of natural therapies setting this up as a natural therapy, he trains people all over the world, and it works really well. He might know of some contacts around Australia. He has a few sites, but you could try this one: http://www.awakeningwithin.org.au/

Forever grateful to my incredible Mod Team
Most physiotherapists can do it (its the same equipment that they use for muscle soreness). So just call the physio and check that they are comfy in zapping ducts.
It worked for me too.
My LC gave me a name yesterday so I am going to see them today.
Just thinking though, can I still feed from the side getting treated?
Yes. Definitely.
the more you feed from it the better - the idea is to keep it as empty as possible, because the blockage is usually the last thing to come out.
So typically: hot pack/feed baby/pump/hand squirt out the last bit/cold pack is the pattern. And the ultrasound is just a way of reducing inflammation - especially if the inflammation seems concentrated in a particular area.
Ultrasound seems to have worked wonders! The lumps I haven't been able to massage out myself are gone! Going to do another session Thursday, so hopefully if I can get my nipples healed mastitis won't come again!!
FX!

I also found an electric toothbrush held on the area to offer fabulous relief while feeding. I had ultrasound treatment and it was fab, but i did get another blockage in that side a few months later and the toothbrush held on the lump (and over a towel) while expressing or feeding was great (although dd laughed at me and ds was so distracted while feeding lol).
