7 months and nothing yet, but am alreeady having the Easter debate with everyone (including Shel).
"how can you not give chocolaet at easter?!?!?"
... uh, easy, the same way i don't give chocolate any other day! it's not like the other babies will be bragging about all the chocolate they get If she does get any at easter it'll be the tinest amount ansd then I'll do my mummy duties and eat the rest I'm a bit worriedfd as she doesn't have sugar except what she gets from fruit so i don't want her to go off the deep end!!! lol i don't let her have fruit juice or anything else except water, booby, and the fresh food I give her so... not looking forward to what is probably going to be a sugar overload
A friend of mine was giving her bub cheezels and sips of her coke at 5 months so everyone has different ideas of what is ok obviously.
We haven't given Cameron actual chocolate yet...but I did allow him to have some cake and a small piece of fairy bread at a 1 year old birthday party on the weekend - he is 9months old. Cam also had baby chocolate custard on christmas day (almost 7 months old). I will avoid giving him actual chocolate for as long as I can help it, but he will still get tastes of it though other chocolate flavoured products. And instead of a chocolate egg at easter I think I will just give him a jar of chocolate custard again - I will try to use this as the chocolate treat for as long as I can get away with it (more so with DH and the grandparents ).
My kids all had chocolate on their first birthday. As everyone else has said, each to their own. I'm not a big fan of coke in a bottle, but you rarely see that these days. Most people are very aware and smart when it comes to their children's bodies, teeth etc. Everyone has there thing. Mine is rollups. DD7 has NEVER had a rollup and we have had big chats about how bad they are for your teeth.
