Hi there, like everything there are loads of different ideas. I didn't give ds yogurt until he was 12 months old and even then it was an organic goats milk yoghurt and only on the odd occasion as it isn't something that is always in our fridge. And I still don't give him cows milk as he's still breastfeeding. I don't believe dairy is as necessary as the dairy industry would have you believe and there is plenty of research to suggest that it isn't that great for your health. My son is 2 years old and when he weens I may introduce some raw biodynamic milk for milkshakes & smoothies and home made icecream etc but that will again only be every now and again along with home make yoghurt made with the raw milk. As for cheese this is something that we all really enjoy so my son started eating that at about 12 months. Each to their own, do whatever is right for you. I would always recommend to cut out dairy if your child has a cold as it's mucus forming and an immune system suppressant.

We don't have any history of dairy intolerances though, I may have held off if we did.
