its much better today. Pink still, not red like the photo but still there. But i can touch it & rub the area without crying lol.
Impressive though that photo isn't it lol
My midwife said in the early days the hub won't be able to drain your breast in the same way we think of an older baby because supply is driven by hormones not demand (in the early weeks).
Do you have another child who can have a go after baby? That saved me this time around.
I had nipple thrush this time, which was a nasty surprise!
Oh I wish! I bloody weaned Iain not 2 or so months ago. He has asked & have offered & he has even put his mouth on but he seems to have forgotten how to attach.
Its flarred up again but slightly higher. if you look at the photo above, its now sore where the redness seems to end at the op almost on my ribcage so sick of being in pain.
Can you get to a physio? The ultrasound treatment they offer is excellent for unblocking the darn things.
Also, you can take ibuprofen or paracetamol while breastfeeding. Both will help with the pain a bit, and the ibuprofen may also help reduce the inflammation and unblock.....
not a fan of ibuprofen & I have been taking panadol which takes the edge off.
I just hand expressed & pumped because I am getting letdowns but that breast isn't leaking at all :/ .
I only got 60 mls (with the pump I suck at hand expressing) & also got small amounts of yellowish stringy bits. Almost like snot LOL. YUK I hope that doesn't mean there is an infection after all & its just the blackage coming out. I hope I managed to loosen things off.
I must admit that I thought that if things were red then there was likely to be an infection - I hope that you can beat it, but if you start to feel generally crap (in addition to my-boob-is-sore crap) then you need antibiotics.....
