Yay! I think the comps were more of a confidence issue for you, rather than a supply one. It's a common thing for many parents to feel uncertainty about their baby's behaviour - especially when it doesn't seem to fit with many of our cultural expectations for babies (sadly these often bear little or no relation to biological norms).
As others have said, anyone can access the ABA helpline - 1800-686-2-686. And you are certainly welcome to attend your local group meetings as a guest before deciding to join.
Re cluster feeding & supply. Babies aged between 1 month and 6 don't increase their demand for milk. They have the same every day (until you start introducing other foods). In this instance, you might be a little behind in supply simply because you've been replacing a certain amount of milk with formula. That will change very quickly as you feed according to his demand. Babies sometimes want to spend more time at the breast because they need you and this is one way they are programmed to get you all to themselves.
So good job mummy!![]()
Thanks Mad B. I think you are right. I think I was expecting to have issues due to my experience with DD and having to comp feed her.
When I got home from hospital this time my nipples were badly blistered and I had mastitis and a lot of pain each time he fed. So it was awful to put him on the boob and think that there was nothing coming out.
We have made it through today ( so far) with no comps and I'm confident we can keep going!
I am having trouble finding brewers yeast. My Woolies doesnt stock it. Anyone know where to get it around Eastern subs of Sydney?
