Yep, sometimes our babies need us to just be bloody-minded about our determination to keep them on breastmilk! When you just know you have to and that these situations CAN be overcome, you just power through them until they're resolved.

Even if you express for the next 24 hours you'll find your nipples feel a lot better in that period and your 'better' nipple will probably handle a couple of feeds by tomorrow night. Your supply will not evaporate. It may actually cause some engorgement, so make sure you get into the shower to massage your ducts with hot water to get the supply moving and the message to your glands that you still need that milk to be produced.
I think most of us know people who give up on BFing with far less reason...usually because there wasn't a sheer bloody-mindedness to begin with.
