doesnt feel like Mastitis, but what could it be?

BF my dd2, shes a great feeder, had no trouble. the last two days ive noticed that my left nipple is a bit sore, just a little uncomfortable, i thought maybe attachment or something. Then last night my left breast was getting quite tender, underneath. i sort of feels like i got hit in the boob and its a bruise right inside the breast tissue!?

it feels nothing like i remember mastitis feeling like when i got it a few years ago with dd1. no flu like symptoms, no redness or lines or bumps or anything. but its quite tender to touch. dd1 still has a quick feed before bed and i let her have a big feed thismorning (was the best day ever for her, considering she is down to a 20second feed a day) but its worse now than thismorning.

ive done the massage in the hot shower too.

I have no idea what it is?? any ideas???

it sounds like it could be the start of mastitis. it can be quite mild or it can be very severe.
i had it really bad once, flu like symptoms, couldn't move off the couch sort of thing. thought i was going to die! But then i got it at a later stage and it was much milder, only the boob was tender. so.....i'm saying it could be mild mastitis. any chance you can see a dr today?

maybe try to massage it in a warm shower with an electric toothbrush and see if that makes any difference?

That's what blocked ducts feel like to me - try and get that boob empty, (feed baby, pump, hand express in shower), after it's empty try a cold pack.
Ibuprofen or panadol can also help with the pain.

It sounds like a blocked duct to me too. If it goes on too long that's when the infection can creep in, and you develop mastitis.

Hope you can clear it soon!
