I too have not found breastfeeding easy so you are definitely not alone. I used to get so nervous everytime DD was to wake for a feed as I would be thinking 'oh no -how is it going to go? Is she going to latch well, is she going to eat well'
My initial goal was 2 weeks b/feeding and then it was 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks , 16 weeks and now i am at 18 weeks and still breastfeeding is not easy (although it is certainly much easier than at the start) and just think - i have to cart around my stupid b/feeding pillow wedge thingo EVERYWHERE as i cannot feed DD without it - she is starting to get too big for the pillow but i will use it until she completely hangs of it i think. I have mothers in shopping centres (in the mothers room) just look at me when i whip out this big blue pillow to feed baby and embarrassingly enough most times DD refuses to eat while out shopping so not only do i look silly for having this pillow but i also look silly cause half the time i don't know when DD is actually hungry or tired.. I have had a few ladies even say 'first child huh'...

I don't know when i will stop b/feeding but usually one day at a time is how i go.. Oh and did you hear of a cream for your nipples called 'Lansinoh'? It is great for when you feel that your nipples are on fire and the best thing is is that you don't have to wipe it off before you feed baby

All the best, i just wanted to tell you that you are certainly not the only one out there having a mighty hard time (hoping my crazy post will make you feel better)
