I've gone and got all the ingredients for these today, and will have a go at making them if DD ever gives me some time! Interested to see how well they work.

I made a particularly potent batch this week. I haven't needed to use breast pads for a couple of months, but after this batch, my friends call me "Wet Patches" I doubled the flaxseed meal, added cocoa and hazelnut meal, and they taste like Nutella
You could use a food processor up until the flour part. If you put flour in with your mixer, you risk overdeveloping the gluten, which will make your bickies very crumbly.

Oh dear. I made up the dough yesterday, but didn't get around to baking it. So I picked at it all arvo, I ate sooo muchI thought I felt it working, so was happy DD fed for a long time last night.
Then she decided to sleep for 10 1/2 hours! Ouch!!! I was so full and had leaked out of the breast pads onto the bed lol. Poor DD couldn't keep up with the flow from it!
Kelly, my hubby would like to thank you for my new even bigger boobs![]()
LOL!!! He's welcome![]()

should i be giving them a miss because of thrush u know with all the sugar and yeast thats in them? i am just wondering coz i bought all the stuff to make them and dont know whether i should make any
A friend of mine mentioned the other day that she ate them and had a recurrence of the thrush she had just managed to get rid of. Make them, just leave out the brewers yeast.
Brewers yeast is what makes them work! But up your intake of probiotics too if thats a problem. You can use a liquid probiotic if you're making the uncooked dough.
The BB article on thrush is great and the presentation down the bottom is awesome. There are several parts to it but well worth the watch.

Thanks Kelly
I won't eat them prior to bub arriving though... I have a history of 37 & 38 weekers!
Can you substitute stewed apple for some of the butter?
I don't see why not. They just might be a bit more Cakey than crunchy. Yum.
Bump![]()
