Second bout of mastitis, on the right breast again, but different area. Started same as last time,with the bruise type pain in my breast. Recognised it, so had hot shower with my electric toothbrush, fed Stormy upside down (dangle feeding, such a nice phrase) so his chin was near the lump and done massaging and feeding. But I'm starting to feel dizzy and a little odd, so think I haven't done enough. And there's still a lump.
Stormageddon's asleep for the night now, but I'll off the right side first overnight. Anything else I can do?
you poor thing. I hate mastitis. Well sounds like you're doing a lot of the good stuff. You can keep massaging and also express some milk at least from that side. The most success I had was after pumping as much as I could and then putting a hungry bub on what I thought was an empty breast. He wasn't too happy about it but he managed to get every last drop out.

The night feeding seems to have helped. Not perfect, but better.
Very scared of going back to work, less than 3 months away now, being away from Stormageddon for 8 hours at a time... that's missing about 6-9 feeds for us. He will probably be ok, but will I? I don't want to drop feeds cos I work pt and want to keep feeding for as long as possible.
Well 3 months is still quite a long time for his feeding to change. Could you reduce the frequency of the feeds during the day? Will you be able to express at work?
I was pleasantly surprised at how well DS2 and I cope without him feeding while he's at childcare and then still doing 1-3 feeds during that time on the days he's home. Good luck!
I have the same problem but its the exact same area that gets blocked. Im up to 9 weeks of anti bs and woke up blocked again.
Im at school the first 2 weeks of term 1 so I hope its better by then because I know Ill be in agony
