That is amazing about placental function though - I think I've read a link you gave me to her website before but will definately look for the book thanks! My DD had undiagnosed mild IUGR (was term but 2.4kg) and even though my placenta LOOKED great clearly it wasn't functioning optimally.

I don't know if it's the same for you, but I found I felt like I failed to grow my baby properly on the inside and then felt like a double failure when my boobs wouldn't come to the party to grow her properly on the outside. I hate to think of any other Mums feeling that way so just wanted to say you are doing an awesome job with what you've been dealt which is the most any of us can do and you've added some extra inspiration to me to battle on BF with this second bub even if I encounter the same hurdles again. Hope the Goat's Rue works well for you

Having a really crap day. Was just starting to feel like my supply was catching up, and then he gets hungry again . Every time I start to feel positive, something happens to knock that down. I am wavering between thinking that I can do it, I don't need to give him formula, I can work harder at this..........and thinking that I am being crazy, and denying the inevitable.

DS2 had a little operation a week ago, which certainly hasn't helped things, for a variety of reasons. For five days following the op he pooed at least 10 times a day, bright green stuff (like grass ). So of course, he hasn't gained much weight at all this week. Hardly surprising, but it's still stressing me out. Especially as we're seeing the paed for the first time since discharge in a week, and I really wanted to go in there saying how wonderfully well he's growing.

Low on EBM, so I'm trying him on 1.5-2 hourly feeds, and going to see how we go. I'm trying to tell myself that I'll give it until Tuesday before using the F word...........

To top it off, one of his wounds has become infected, and I couldn't get in to the Dr today. I took the gamble that it would be okay until tomorrow, it wasn't looking that bad. But I just checked it, and it's blown right up so I'm about to take him to hossy

You are doing everything you can to give him the best start and no-one else is qualified enough to do that
