Hey, natural birth is so not about strength! Like I said, we can have the best intentions in birth, but sometimes our bodies will just have other plans. I'm glad you don't regret your epi...don't have regrets! I'm sure TeniBear won't mind we mentioning, but she too had an epi that saved her from a csection. Sometimes the body just gets exhausted, and the break the epi gives can mean the difference between progression and surgery IMO. I'll be following your journey, and here for support when bubs is born Let BB be your village, so many people here have been there, done that

I can't really add much, PZ's given you such great advice (she was my doula, before she even had Isla!) so I'll just back her up. Immediate skin to skin is great - even if you pass out from still being drugged up - and learning to feed laying down (if you're going to bedshare) was my godsend. Even now, a great deal of Amelia's feeds are done laying down - it's so easy to feed her to sleep that way, I just let her go until she drops off and don't have to worry about moving her to a cot


PZ - When I first read that post, I thought it said "we" had an epidural I really don't recall you having to bend over a pills while someone put a needle in your back as well, but if that's how you remember it...
