Why is it so? Most people here are too young to get that so ignore tired old me!
I have had 2 c/s and have 2 scars, DS scar was the last one and is about 1-1 1/2 cms above DD's..... They told me it would be the same scar/cut.
Anyone else have this and know why? Maybe they forgot?!?
Dont want to know for any other reason other than pure curiosity and my belly is so messed up with skin and stretch marks that 2 low thin white scars are the least of my worries!!!
I'm very surprised that you have two scars hun. Every c/s I have been at they have always removed the first scar and you are only left with the one. Interesting hun. You have me pondering why.
Oh by the way all those stretchies are reminders of how our bodies grew and nutured our gorgeous little kiddies - well that what I keep telling myself anyway
Did you have any issues re position of placenta, or where baby was lying? I also thought they made the new incision near the old one and removed the old scar, but I can imagine there might be circumstances when this is not advisable.
Tanstar- they didnt remove my 1st either. I don't have 2 completely different scars, they started to cut along the same one but from the middle to left side there are 2 different cuts. I was under the impression also that they removed the first but they didn't?? No idea
I have had 3 c/sections, I have one scare but on the right hand side on the end it goes to two, and just before it goes into two it dips in? I didn't think they removed it just try and cut along the same line?
Yep my tummy is defently not what it used to be!
Weird hey! Mine are 2 parallel lines definitely apart - would take a photo but that's just gross!
Not sure about position, never went into labour with J but they did use forceps to help him out. Mmmm wonder if it's in my notes, if I was having another baby would pay to get them but I'm not so might just have to keep speculating!!!!
This happened to my sister because she had issues with her first scar in that it was raised and had healed badly. For her second CS they used the same scar line and basically gave her a tummy tuck to try and fix the wound but it didn't work so with her 3rd CS she had to have a second incision about 1.5cm above the first. It's not routinely done and only really when there are issues with the first scar. She also had adhesions from her first two CS's over her bladder and bowel which complicated the 3rd CS and affected the decision by the surgeon over where to cut.
Thanks Trav - see the thing is my scar was fine as far as I know. I know internally it could be a problem but as far as I know there were no issues, I even met with the surgeon the day before and he explained they would cut on the same scar - my 1st scar wasn't raised at all - it was a tiny white thin line, so fine maybe they couldn't see it???!!! Now I'm getting curiouser and curiouser!!
I had two (now I only have one lol). But my my first one was nearly invisible when I fell with DS and with that preg I got horrendous stretchies to the point where my original scar was blurred.
