For my 4 c/s I was in for 5 days each time except for Lachie cause he was flown to Sydney 12 hours old in respitory distress(but that's another story!) So I was on an aeroplane morning of Day 3 post op. Anyway I would get out of bed the morning after and walk around and get the catheter out, have a shower(heaven) and had the same problem with bowels(they were obsessed!) and each time was given something to move things along! it was good to get home and Iwas ready...my advice is to stay until you are ready..there are no nurses on a buzzer at home!
I also had a few terrible midwives, but I just dodged them when they came on shift and really annoyed the good ones
