I contracted PID after an emergency D&C...unfortunately it went undetected for a good 5-6 months. It caused pretty bad scarring and contributed to a) difficulties conceiving and b) when I did conceive, keeping the pregnancy going. Might not be the same for you, but that was my experience of a serious uterine infection
I'm hoping that there isn't any damage caused, but its hard to say. My GP says the infection should be getting better after 5 days on antibiotics but she said its still bad so who knows
hun, your having a real rough trot.
Can you get in to see your GP and get as much information as possible, discuss just how bad, what it means and what you can do?
Is this something they think has been caused by your recent MC (sorry for bringing it up) or something they think might be the cause?
i'd say it's time to try in and get an appointment with a gyne to discuss the whole thing. it sounds like there has been some sub-standard processing of your situation somewhere along the line (perhaps several "somewhere's") and you need to get straight answers about it all. gyne should be able to look a bit more at the bigger picture rather than dealing with the most immediate issue
it may mean more invasive investigation (biopsy/d&c) but really, when your health and your fertility are on the line, i'd say it's worth it
My GP is following it up for me, she was the one who told me about this nevermind the fact i have seen numerous doctors these past 3 weeks plus a gyno...
She has ordered another ultrasound for monday to check to see if there is still anymore withheld "products" but she is ordering a D&C anyways just to clear out my uterus just so there isnt any chance of the infection coming back.
I honestly don't know if its caused by the m/c or was something i had before which caused me to miscarry. Its horrible to think but i had unexplained cramping and bleeding prior to and they couldn't or wouldn't tell me why. So its something i want thoroughly investigated and my GP is referring me to a gyno to discuss this matter properly and thoroughly.
If it something that could have been prevented and they think i was neglected and not given the best care i will be seeking legal advice and/or making a formal complaint.
I had severe endo in my early 20's. Was told I would never have children as that is how bad it was, and the surgeon wanted to put me back under and give me a hysterectomy. I told him I wanted to at least try for children. Conceived Kameron the first month of trying. Had another lapraoscopy between having Kameron and Lachlan as I had mid month bleeding. Conceived Lachlan the 4th month of trying. Conceived Ashton without even trying LOL.
