    Normal pain after c-section??

So today is day number 4 after my emergency c-section. I was discharged yesterday with no pain medication etc. Now my pain in general isn't to bad but I have this deep burning sensation at the sides of my stomach over my hips. I mentioned it in hospital & they said it was just the dressing pulling at my skin but the dressings have been changed & the pain is still there. It kills me if I try to roll onto my side, sit up or walking even starts the burning. As far as pain relief goes I've just been keeping up the panadol which keeps me comfortable so long as I don't move too much. Wondering if this is something anyone else experienced? Is it caused by the c-section scar being beneath my belly flab after the birth now?

It sounds like what I had, the stitches may be too tight. I was in agony when I tried to get up from the couch or bed. My gp was able to cut the stitches and I was fine.

Whatever it is it isn't normal so get it checked out.

c-section is major abdominal surgery, it's a big thing for your body to go through.

definately get yourself checked out medically.

it's hard to care for your nb, when you are so sore yourself.

I'd get checked...I had a different kind of discomfort (not pain) for a number of weeks and asked for an ultrasound to make sure it was OK. Everything was fine - it was only my expectations of when I'd feel back to normal that were off - it takes a while. However, I was discharged with 3 scripts for pain meds and written instructions from my OB about when to take what and how often (if I was still uncomfortable - not just to take because)...I didn't need much but it was good to have when I got very achy.

I'd get checked too. I also got discharged with pain meds. I only really took the strong ones at night so that I could get decent sleep and used panadol during the day unless the pain was worse.

GL and hope u start to feel better soon.

So went back to the hospital today & got my stitches removed. It looks like they were a big part of the problem as they had started to grow over quite a bit. Seems to be a little better so will see how things go.

I've still got a bit of a burning sensation when I do too much on my right side, I'm 8 weeks post c/s. Hopefully it goes away some time soon!
