Unhappy still not healed 7 weeks later............

    hello
So I had a c-sec 7 weeks ago and there are still 3 small holes where it hasnt healed together. I went and saw the doc a little over a week ago and she put some strips on it and said hopefully that will heal it together ( it didnt). There is no pain its weaping a little bit but nothing major but I do have a lovely mummy tummy that hangs down so it isnt getting any air sorry tmi. Has anyone else had this happen, I have been told that it can take ages for them to heal but im not sure.

This happened to my gf and she had to have it surgically redone... an infection had broke out on the inside. Please keep an eye on it and go back to the dr again as it's not fun when it gets to that stage.

I had some problems with my first c/sect. one thing that I was told to do was push a pad (like one u use for your period) against the cut. This helps to keep it dry (from sweat and weeping) and collect anything that weeps allowing u to see the colour and smell the odur (I know yucky) of the discharge. If u don't want to use pads or are concerned about causing an infection (although it is VERY unlikly) you could get some gauze from the chemist. To hold it in place I found it great to pull my nickers into the middle of the pad and use the little "mummy tummy hang" to hold it in place. Nothing gets the bugs growing better than a warm moist place. This helps to keep it cool and dry
    Goodluck!

I had this a little, just the skin layer on one of the ends of the scar. Is yours just the skin layer too? I just kept a couple of steri-strips holding it together and put antiseptic cream on it. I also stopped doing too much moving around because it was so easy to pull it apart. It eventually healed closed but took a while, a lot longer than, say, a cut. Just make sure the discharge doesn't smell, coz that means it's infected. Try to keep it as dry as possible too and let some air get to it. Goodluck!
