My mum had it done with her last baby delivered by c/s in the same op. It was her 4th child at 38yrs old, so she wasn't up for anymore kids! It regards to extra pain and complications with the c/s she had none whatsoever, but as miss.cinders said she has suffered from worse periods and cramps since having them tied. My hubby's mum had a single op to have her tubes tied and has never had a c/s and she says her periods and time of ovulation are 'hell'!!! I also know 3 different women that have fallen pregnant after having tubes tied, not saying it is very common but it does happen. Studies show that a vasectomy has about a 1 in 2000 percetile of falling pregnant after the op, whereas there is about 1 in 200 percentile of falling pregnant after having the tubes tied, and effects of changes after the ops are much MUCH higher in women.
(I don't think it's all that much on the mens part after we go through all the hard work of cooking and delivering the babies either )
Good Luck with your pregnancy xx
