When was your scar no longer red anymore?? And what will it look like when I'm pg?
I assume one day my scar will just be a thin white line that I can't see. That's what it's like at the ends, it's slowly creeping in further but there's still a bit in the middle, maybe 4cm, that's red and raised. It will go away right? How long did it take for you? I wanted it to be gone before TTC again.
What will it look like during pregnancy? Will it stretch and get bigger??
Glad you posted, I wonder about my scar all the time. I have a patch in the middle thats starting to fade from red to almost nothing, but most of it is still really visible. Ugh I hate it.
You know I had no idea that it fades completely over time until I read a thread on here. I thought there would always be a little red line there.
I have two scars (lucky me I know - they missed cutting on the first one because it was so stretched), and while you can still quite plainly see both of them, they are both white.
The redness should go away...but everyone scars differently. If you're concerned, perhaps mention it to your GP next time you're there?
My first scar definitely stretched during my preg with DS, it got much wider, but then went back to what it was before I was pregnant pretty much straight away.
Mine is now a thin pinkish line and parts are fading to white. I only have the one as the OB managed to cut across the first scar with DD2 although she did add a bit at the end.
I can't remember what mine looked like when pregnant - after about 20 weeks I couldn't see it anyway so it didnt matter
Can't remember how long it took, but mine pretty much faded away completely, was just a very thin & faint line. But with being pg again, it's gone back to being pink, which my OB says is normal during pg (just like other things like moles can darken).
Mine is a thin white line (despite being a very bad c/s & major infection afterwards) but Luke is almost 12yrs so can't really remember when it went from pink to white... sorry
It hasn't seemed to have changed at all this pregnancy - although being almost 23 weeks along, I have to look in the mirror now to see it at all
The only odd thing I have encountered (that hasn't been as issue until I got pregnant & grew) was some ingrown hairs along the bottom of the scar.
Not painful at all but definately lumps I could feel.
That happened when I was about 12 weeks, but haven't had any for a while now.
Maybe a random thing for just me and nothing to do with your original question, but its the only thing I've noticed to be a little weird with the scar & this pregnancy.
