I was just talking to ex. Interesting convo.

His gf has just had a baby. Only a few weeks ago. I was going on about CSA (for fun, yanno) & he said something about putting his tax in this year, coz he wants to go to NZ in a couple years, but can't if he gets done for tax evasion.
I told him he has a baby... he's going to have to do it anyway. I mentioned that she'd need it done for her supp payments & kinda maybe pushed it by saying he'd need it done if she wanted BB & any c'link payments.

He told me she's going to be working & won't be claiming payments... 1, BS. 2, BS. 3, BS!!! What about BB I ask, 5 grand... 'nah, she doesn't want it'.

So... am I right that claiming FTB etc isn't really a choice? You might not be elegable for payments, but a child still needs to be listed with them doesn't it? And why on earth would you not claim???? They're not on big money & are seasonal workers!

So I'm suss. I think she's claiming PPS & he was trying to get around telling me.

Anyone else think its odd? Or am I odd? I just want him to finally pay something!
