You'll probably find the rejection is a system letter. As soon as yours and hubby's income hits the record it will process the payment. You won't have to claim again
For anyone still having trouble with getting onto Centrelink, I was able to last night without any problems at dinnertime (so around 6pm Melb time). I figured that most people are updating or claiming FTB so that would mean dinnertime would generally be quiet online!
I know if you don't need to lodge a tax return you need to tell cl etc..
but what if you do need to lodge? does my income automatically get told to cl so they can pay my ftb difference? or do I still need to tell them our income? I over estimated on purpose so keen for some money. tia!
I recieve ppp, fta-a &b and df works ft. I havent recieved a group cert from c'link so Im assuming I dont need to lodge a tax return. Is that right?
I am also a partner in a small business but as yet we have not sold anything despite having an abn for quite a few months and I have not contributed financially to it at all. Will this affect it?
I know I should just ring them but Ive heard the wait times are horrendous atm.
If you earned under $18,000 then you don't need to lodge. From memory ppp falls below that threshold. FTA and FTB don't count as taxable income. I am not sure about the business side of things, but I think that if you make less than $18,000 you don't need to pay tax for that year. However, if you are a non-lodger, you do need to notify Centrelink as they will expect to receive info from the ATO and will hold on to any money that they may owe you until they hear one way or the other (either from ATO or from you saying that you're not lodging a tax return so there will be no info coming from the ATO).
You are allowed to lodge a tax return even if you don't technically need to. Maybe ring the ATO rather than Centrelink and go from there.
Says on centrelink wesbite they're not sending out payment summaries anymore, you can access them online or if you're using eTax the data will all be pre loaded.
Thanks ladies!
