yes, call up - if you don't, a percentage (fairly high) will be taken out of each payment until it's paid off. if you ring you can negotiate a reasonable amount to pay Kylz

I underestimated by $22000 in total, and mostly that was my income so I would be very shocked if there wasn't a debt. That said, I didn't claim for the whole year so that might be my saving grace.
Me too, by about the same amount.
Unfortunately ours put us over the maximum limit for any entitlement so were going to be paying back all our ftb a. Ftb b will be ok though.

I'm glad we weren't getting a lot to start with.

I overestimated by 18000 but only getting $726 in my FTB recon - the supp alone is $700 isn't it, so im a little lost!!
I won't complain as its' not a debt i think it's just not what i was expecting!!
My supp and recon gets paid thurs so i wonder how long our tax will take now. think we just bought a new fridge and it would be good to have the buffer back

    If that helps!
I think it's 14 days before calling generally.

    Anytime olive

Dragon. Ftba supp is 726. You should get letter explaining payment. It nay be that your overestimate put you into the plateau I mentioned to trav. If so you may not have been underpaid each fortnight at all

BG, I have no working pc at the moment, so can't look up...
I assume though that unpaid carers allowance aren't entitled to supp payment?
    Just curious

Clover I could be wrong but I actually thought if you got carers allowance there was more supp payment stuff?

ETA- Yeah, if you receive a carer allowance you will receive up to $600

here is the link if you are able to open it http://www.centrelink.gov.au/interne.../ssp_carer.htm

Thanks BG - i was going off by what the difference in the estimator was online - about $400 for the year.
So at 90K we may have gotten X but at 75K we may have gotten $400 more over the course of the year - Anyway no big deal, i'll wait for the letters too!
    Thanks xx

I was previously getting FTB, which adjusted down to nothing when I went back to work, now I am not working again do I have to claim for it again or will they work it out automatically, I have submitted last years tax return and done the income estimate for this year (on income def eligible) and getting baby bonus but have not seen any letter about FTB yet. I had underestimated income last year and they have subtracted over from what due back from ATO, if that makes any difference.

you may need to check that you are current (on nil rate) not cancelled. if you are current on nil rate, you can update your estimate to reflect what it should be, and you should start getting paid again. if you were cancelled when you returned to work, you'll need to do a new claim

Clover - if you got carer allowance with a HCC ONLY (so no actual payment) you won't get the carer supplement. well, i don't believe you will. i'm pretty sure it is only paid to those getting the $110 per fortnight, not the Carers who get a HCC for caree but no actual money

That's what I was thinking. I am appealing the decision soon as I can get the forms done properly. They made me think I had 13 weeks, but I was rejected for ds coz paper work wasn't in within 6 weeks. Anyway we'll see.
    Thanks

Efjay- I don't receive a payment, just dd's HCC. So didn't think I would. & I am current for allowance, not carers payment... they recieve the $600 from memory.
    Confusing much

thought i'd bump this thread given reco will be starting in the next month or so - lots of info was covered here - i will eventually get around to putting links to info on human services website in a similar thread for a sticky if the mods can arrange it, but thought i'd get this up and going now cos so many q's are answered in here already!

BG so sorry to hound you with more q's but I was wondering if I can ask a quick one. Last year I wasn't active on the FAO site as I have our payments reconcilied at the end of the financial year so I had to a lump sum claim.
This year I am also having it reconcilied but I am receiving the paid parental leave payments. So will I have to do the lump sum claim again or will it be automoatically reconciled as I am an active client?
    TIA

if you are ftb current at nil rate (you would be able to see this on online services - on payment history it will have the fortnightly payment dates with 0.00 as the amount aid) - then no, you won't have to do anything - it will happen automatically. you will still need to notify if you're not required to lodge a tax return
