I think everyone needs to calm down and take a deep breath...

We all have made choices, we all have INDIVIDUAL circumstances and can not judge others and how they choose (or have to live) to live.

Why is it that when it comes to money we all turn on each other like a bunch of rabid dogs.

Your personal circumstances are just that personal.

I would just like for people to not assume anyone elses life is just peachy due to income....
I agree! Unless they own a private jet, a few casinos and the moon, it's fair to say no one should assume someone else is better off because of their income!

I actually have a friend who was given a portion of the moon for her birthday Who knew you could own the moon!

I think that Dach has said it best.

I also think that everyone should just sit back and take a deep breath and CALM DOWN.

So some people will get it and some people won't. I won't because my DH and I work bl00dy hard and pay more tax than most people earn in a year. We are OK with it because realistically although we have larger expenses because of where we live we still live within our means. But I will be buggered if anyone here on BB which is supposed to be a supportive and communal environment is going to attack me or anyone else for saying that even though they are medium to high income earners they couldn't do with some extra money.

If I had the power I would close this thread down because in my opinion it is nolonger about the original post and it is just people trying to defend their own position and attack those who don't agree with them.

I am very mad - and it takes a fair bit to get me angry.

I think that everyone should just grow up.

Honestly if you are happy and healthy who gives a continental about how much money everyone has. Get a life and stop worrying about what everyone else does and doesn't have. There are alot bigger issues going on in the world, than who gets $1,000 and who doesnt.

Had my say for the day..........

    .
I must of missed the posts saying high incomers couldn't do with the money too. EVERYONE could do with more!!!

I'm sorry its made you upset...

I hate people assuming anything about my life style and choices, so know how you feel...
I would like to go out to Adams work and smack that guy in the head!!!

I told Ad to tell him I'm putting the money away for a boob job!!! That"ll make him happy, not!!!

I just wanted to say again that on the FAO phone message it says UP TOO $1000.
So it sounds to me like it might still be on a sliding scale!

just to clarify - there is NO sliding scale - the reason "up to $1000" is mentioned is that there are a huge number of children that are in shared care where two or more people will share that $1000 depending on what percentage of time they have a child in their care. there is a hard cut off point, which is to qualify for FTBA.

    ta christy!!

TBH at the end of the day we all choose to have kids! they really are our responsibility whether we choose to have 1,2 or 6 kids! we should all be gratefull we can have them! love them and cherish them, no amount of money can replace those facts. we need to get over what everyone else has or hasnt got, gets or doesnt get. wants doesnt wants, needs doesnt needs. BE HAPPY with what you do have! i know i am!
I was gonna say the same thing!

Oh man would i love to make over 100k a year!
We pay $1040 a month on rent and $850 a month on our car loan....so thats $1890 a month which doesnt include food and other bills.
We manage to pay these expences on less than 50 grand a year. If we were were making 100k plus we would be living the GOOD LIFE! for sure!
If i wasnt coping financially on 100k a year then i would be living beyond my means.
100k is alot of money....it needs to be budgeted properly. If it all goes on bills and people are struggleing then you shouldnt be living beyond your means.
Im not being rude im just saying that if you are paying a huge amount on your morgage and other loans then that was your choice. Nobody made you sign the papers
honey most people who earn $100000+ (on paper) have worked bl@@dy hard! and for longer than you really realise! my DH has been in the workforce for 18yrs myself 10 yrs (prior to having DD) we have paid a significatn amount of tax over the years and people like you assume we dont deserve a measely $1000, its sounds to me like your the one living beyond your means! i mean $850 a month on a car loan! rediculous!
my DH worked hard to get where he is, gets slugged with high tax, id be happy to get no assistance if we paid less tax! that way we couldnt be accused of getting what some believe we dont deserve!

    WELL SAID!
my partner works his a$$ off in construction everyday....he starts work at 5am to physically work his a$$ off. When he gets home at the end off the day he collapses on the lounge and can barely move!
Thats a hard working low income earner if you ask me!
